Fish Id: A Guide To East Coast Fishes

Spider Crab Libinia emarginata

This harmless crab is found up the entire east coast in the inshore waters. They tend to resemble a rock if you don't look closely, and will often fool you into thinking they are a clam when you are out digging. They are a distant relative to the king crab, but not considered edible.
