Yellow
Perch (panfish family) Perca flavescens
Also called striped, coon and
jack perch. Coloration yellow with brown bands. More elongated in body
shape than the white perch, with humped back. Size 1-4lbs. Freshwater fish,
streams, ponds and lakes. Caught on small minnows, crayfish lures, flies,
etc. This fishes original range has also spread across the USA, just as
the large mouth bass. They travel in large schools, the young fish keeping
to the weeded areas.
