Trinectes maculatus, Family: Soleidae (Soles)
Grows to about 6 ". Color varies, usually dark brown with darker bars. Sole frequently spotted. Fins and tail also have bars. Nose rounded, eyes and mouth small. Shallow coastal waters, mud, silt, sand in bays.
