Baiting of Deer In NJ
FOR DEER HUNTING 1998-99 On Trial BAITING INFORMATION
The provision allowing hunting while elevated in a standing tree or from antoher structure within 300 feet of a baited area has expired. New Legislation is pending as the Digest went to press which will allow hunting over a baited area. It is expected to be signed into law by October, 1999. Hunters should check their local newspapers or Fish and Wildlife's websited (www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw) for further information before hunting. Hunters should also check with the landowner or administrative agency before placing bait on their hunting area (baiting is not allowed on National Wildlife Refuges)
