Method of Catching: Trap, Small Dropping Doors

Crabbing Report: Caught 2 dozen crabs over a 4hr period. 8 keepers total, multiple just shy of the 4.5" mark. Sadly though I saw 0 females the whole time. Not a great sign for future populations. However it was a nice day till the wind calmed down and the gnats(vampires) came out and drove us to the car. But they went away once the wind picked back up.

Crabbing Report: Caught 3 keepers at 4.5", caught roughly 3-4 dozen smaller blue crabs. Maybe about a dozen or so just nicked by 1/4" or less to be legal. No spider crabs caught or spotted. Tons of snails which makes it a pain but still over all a fun trip and great fun for the family.

Date of Trip: 07/31/13
Location of Trip: Barnegat Bay
Moon Phase: Do not know info
Tide Crabbed: High (Incoming water)
Weather Conditions: Partly Sunny/Partly Cloudy
Wind Conditions: less than 10 kts. Do not know info
Sea Conditions: less than 2 ft.
Bait Used: Bunker, Frozen
Method of Catching: Handlines

Crabbing Report: My son, grandson and I rented a boat out of Bob's Bay Marina in Barnegat for a day of crabbing. Started a little slow but then picked up. Grandson, Ryan, was very successful in catching crabs on handlines. Quit crabbing about 4 P.M. with a full bushel of very big crabs. Crabbing was so good that we threw legal minimum size crabs back in and only kept the big boys. A beautiful day as far as the weather too and no greenheads anywhere.
