REEL INFO: Surfmaster - The Surfmaster reel is built along the lines of the Squidder but held at a price within everybody's reach. This reel is light in weight, speedy in action and an excellent casting reel for bait fishing and squidding. (1950 Penn Catalog)

HISTORY: One of the 4 Surfmaster models, these reels were manufactured for a long time, and the 250 model is no exception. First sold with 2 plastic "easy-cast" spools, but with an option to buy a seperate metal spool, this model was the only Surfmaster to be discontinued by Penn before the aluminum spools became available.

    Metal spool is made of chromed brass.
