REEL INFO:  Spinfisher SS Series - The Penn Spinfisher is by far the most recognized spinning reel on the market. Many fishermen prefer the skirted spool style this reel can offer. Not only does the skirt prevent line from becoming entangled or fouled, but it also helps to protect the inner workings of the reel for trouble free performance. The skirt also lessens friction on the line since it completely covers the rotor housing. The 4200SS and 4300SS Spinfisher models are ideal for a variety of ultralight and light applications: trout, crappie, bluegill and similar species.(1998 Penn Catalog)

HISTORY:  The 4200SS replaced the 420SS in 1995, the 4300SS replaced the 430SS in 1992. In 2005 both models were replaced by models from the SSg series.
