How to use the NOAA tidal website

Tides vary depending on location. Sandy Hook is the base line for NJ tides, so all this data is based from the Sandy Hook Reference Station.
On our tidal differences page, you will find additional tidal variations for different fishing/boating locations.
(-) or (+) sign mean add or subtract that amount of time to/from the base tide chart of Sandy Hook.

OTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER:
Wind conditions have a major effect on tides. NE winds for several days will push the tide level up, making it difficult to see the normal tide mark and tidal changes. A strong W wind will blow the tide down so that there appears to be no high tide.
