Basic Tackle for Freshwater Fishing
This shopping list will get you started at freshwater fishing. From here, you can expand your tackle supply based on where and what you are fishing for. There are a variety of lures out there and every year there is something new to try out.
#4-#8 lb. fishing line on small spinning reel.
5'-7' lightweight fishing rod, spinning.
#6, #8 snelled bait hooks
Red/White Plastic Bobbers: ½" ¾" 1" diameters
Split shot, assortment of sizes
Small snap swivels, size 3 or 5
Lures: Small daredevles, panther martins, rooster tails
Bait: Live minnows or nightcrawlers
